Tyler Perry (DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN) does it again with this comedy based on his play of the same name. Madea (Perry) is a gun-toting grandma who gives new meaning to tough love. She is preparing to host a long-awaited family reunion, during which she also plans to marry off her 16-year-old granddaughter. When Madea hears that her sister has just died, she overcomes her initial dismay–her sister still owes her 20 bucks–to add a funeral to the weekend’s itinerary, in a truly impressive show of frugality and efficiency. Madness, of course, ensues, as well as valuable lessons about life, friendship, and the meaning of family.

The reemergence of ’70s-style exploitation films continues with BLACK DYNAMITE with Michael Jai White (UNDISPUTED II: LAST MAN STANDING) as the man of the title.

Jesse Metcalfe, Amber Tamblyn, and Michael Douglas star in this thriller based on an RKO classic. Metcalf (JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE) plays a writer who stands trial for a murder he didn’t commit in order to expose a corrupt district attorney (Douglas).

This comedy blends the old-school talent of director Harold Ramis with the new millennium hit-making prowess of producer Judd Apatow. YEAR ONE stars Apatow collaborator Michael Cera and funnyman Jack Black as men who are banished from their ancient village, causing them to travel across the world.

Plenty of excitement–and controversy–is sure to surround this film from decorated documentarian Michael Moore.
